But are you able to bend over easily with a minimum spending of energy and force? The exertion needed to flex a joint is as important as its range of possible motion. </p>
<p>Different factors limit the flexibility and freedom of movement in different joints and muscles. In the elbow and knee, the bony structure itself sets a definite limit. In other joints, for example the ankle, hip, and back, the more delicate tissue, muscle and connective tissues limit the motion range. </p>
